What would the city of Bern be without its iconic Zytgloggeturm clock tower? Until recently, residents of the city's namesake in the U.S. state of Indiana knew only too well.

But not anymore, thanks to the completion of a replica timepiece in their city. Measuring 49 metres in height, Berne's new landmark is slightly smaller than its counterpart in Switzerland. Nevertheless, the Midwestern U.S. city is justifiably proud of its latest addition, which it has named the "Munsterberg Clock Tower" in honour of the region's first settlers: a group of 70 Mennonite settlers from the Jura region of Switzerland.
