If Switzerland were to join the European Union, the country's domestic policy would lose a major amount of importance unless the current system was to be changed, believe some experts.

Thus far, the government seems to have no clear position on EU entry. In fact, it is not even passing on the necessary information that would allow parliament and the people to weigh up the advantages and disadvantages of further European integration. The last integration report dates back to 1999.
