This has been an impressive year for Simon Ammann: He started it off by winning his second pair of gold medals at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver--sending the country into euphoric celebrations, which often bore a resemblance those of the Olympian himself; he followed those victories up by becoming the first Swiss athlete to win the World Cup overall ski jumping title in March; then, this summer he capped it all by getting married.

I'm not sure how he's going to top 2010's accomplishments, but we can certainly count on "Simi" to give it a try! Swiss News journalist Julia Hancock met up with Ammann at the national training ground in Einsiedeln, as the new ski jumping season was about to get underway (page 12).

As I sit wearing a scarf inside our editorial office, it is clear that winter is fast approaching, and with it, thoughts of getting away on a winter break.
