A leading business and networking event today, the Swiss Economic Forum (SEF), was founded by Swiss entrepreneurs Stefan Linder and Peter Stahli in 1998 with a view of promoting entrepreneurial thinking and innovation in Switzerland and abroad. On 7 and 8 June, 1,250 entrepreneurs and leaders in business, politics, science and media will come together in Interlaken under this year's theme 'The Power of Strength'. The event will provide a platform for participants to engage in stimulating debates, where they can share their experience and offer their assessments as to how we can strengthen existing strengths for the better future of our global economy. The event will be broadcasted live on Swiss Television (on the SF Info channel) and Swiss radio will have a studio on site. Prior to the event, we peak behind the scenes with both founders.

I guess it is fair to say that this is one of the main aspects in which the SEF differs from other platforms. It gives our event a certain 'l-have-to-be-there'-character.

[From the onset], we have completely focused on quality. We want to offer an attractive programme to our more than 1,000 participants. It is paramount that--besides the extensive opportunity to network--the audience can profit from a high-calibre programme, which will provide them with input and inspiration for their daily business. I think one of our success factors is that we strictly focus on the needs of the participants.

Mr Linder: The world is...
