Rock fans are reeling, following the unexpected death of Swiss rock-legend and Gotthard front man, Steve Lee, in a road traffic accident. The 47-year-old singer was realising his life-long dream of touring the United States by Harley-Davidson when the accident occurred.

According to reports, Lee and his 20 Swiss travel companions were around 50 kilometres from Las Vegas, when they pulled their bikes onto the hard shoulder of Interstate 15 to change into wet-weather gear. As the group donned their waterproofs, an approaching heavy-goods vehicle lost control on the wet highway, causing its trailer to jack-knife at speed and collide with the stationary motorcycles, flinging one of the machines into Lee and killing him instantly.
