Switzerland is offering 4.3 million CHF to a project officials call cash-for-shelter. On February 4, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) offered the money to families in Sri Lanka and Indonesia, as an alternative to housing the survivors in camps.

The idea behind the project is that housing people with host families is an easier way of ensuring that the people in need benefit from aid relief, and that living in a home environment is more personal and cheaper than the camps.
