In 1769, John Anderson, the founder of the University of Strathclyde, left instructions in his will that a new higher education institution be established as "a place of useful learning': This ethos remains true today and still drives the Strathclyde Business School.

Strathclyde Business School is one of the largest business schools in Europe, with over 200 academic staff.
