Many visitors to the well-known Geneva Motor Show had their eyes fixed and breaths taken away by Swiss-made 'Splash' early this March. Splash--a car that not only zips at a speed of 200 kilometres per hour (km/h) on land, accelerating to 100 km/h in less than six seconds; but even swims at 80 km/h (approx. 45 knots) and flies over water at a height of 60 centimetres!

This is the 10th concept Swiss-made car designed by Rinspeed.

Looking At Splash

The sleek design makes this sports car even more attractive. And it's features extend your imagination and makes the "little child" in every adult come alive and jump with excitement!

In addition to being light and streamlined, its body is watertight. It is made of multi-layered carbon composite, a state-of-the-art plastic mainly used in Formula One racing. Mounted on chrome-plated aluminium rims, the from tires are 17 inches in and the rear ones are 18 inches, They impart the car with an excellent grip.

The interiors are done keeping in mind the amphibious qualities of the vehicle.

An environmentally friendly bivalent turbocharged natural-gas engine powers the interesting contraption.

All of these features make Splash the world's first amphibious vehicle to be equipped with future-oriented engine technology.
