SWISS POST

Swiss Post customers can now send carbon-neutral letters and packages, thanks to a newly installed [CO.sub.2] emissions offsetting programme.

Customers have the opportunity to pay a "pro clima" surcharge on both domestic and international mail to offset emissions that will be generated en route, thus ensuring their packages travel responsibly, according to a recent Swiss Post press release.

Domestic charges range between SFr 0.01 and SFr 0.10 per item, depending on the destination. International consignment charges vary based on destination and service. The surcharge can be paid at both the Post's physical and online counters, and revenues will be channelled into projects like wind parks and solar installations.
