The International School Berne (ISBerne), established in 1961, is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), and provides an international education in English for over 280 students aged 3-19. Our Early Learning Centre and the Elementary School follow the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IBPYP).

Early Learning Centre

The Early Learning Centre (ELC I and II), for children aged 3-5 years, provides a preschool education in English, thus offering non-native speakers the opportunity to develop English as a second language in a play-oriented learning environment. A child's natural love of learning is enhanced by an abundance of materials, equipment and activities--both indoor and outdoor. Our well-trained, caring team of teachers provides a safe and nurturing learning environment. Entry into ELC is possible at any time. Parents can choose from five mornings, up to five full days.
