The Swiss Federal Court ruled that school children can no longer be exempted from swimming lessons, regardless of religious affiliation.

In a three to two vote, the court overturned the decision it made in 1993, which allowed parents to pull children from compulsory swimming classes for religious reasons, according to the Swiss daily newspaper, Neue Zurcher Zeitung.
