Keeping in mind the unusual weather changes, hurricanes and storms. I would like to share "Student Power" with readers of Swiss News. We can make a global difference to the climate of the world

Over one hundred schools in Switzerland along with their business friends, the government and Greenpeace, have added photovoltaic (PV) solar panels to their schools,

The "JugendSolarProjekt", initiated by Swiss Greenpeace is designed to encourage Swiss students to learn about alternative energies. The original intent was to educate the youth with hands on approach to producing their own renewable energy. The project has since grown beyond schools into "Altersheime" and other community style institutions.

Guided by Greenpeace and teachers, the students are involved in the entire process.

At first the students study the energy efficiency of their school. Like most schools, they discovered wasteful energies such as computers that are left on all day, and overnight as the main offender. They also found several energy saving...
