Swisscom unveiled a new mobile communication plan, aimed at vacationers and promoting cheaper text messaging and calling from abroad. However, Switzerland's Internet comparison service, comparis.ch, is sceptical.

The plan is "more expensive instead of cheap, and of course more complicated", comparis.ch said in a press release.

The Swisscom plan, available on July 1 and called World Option Flex, costs SFr 9 per month in addition to a subscriber's standard plan costs. After signing on, users within the European Union can send an SMS for SFr .20 compared with SFr .40, and call Switzerland for SFr .60 per minute compared to SFr .85 per minute. Incoming calls will cost subscribers SFr .50 per minute compared to SFr .40 per minute.
