Watches and gems brighten up Basel! It's time again for the World Watch and Jewellery Show as Baselworld opens its doors in Basel from 15 to 22 April 2004.

The Hall of Universe at Baselworld will once again glimmer and glitter with the luxurious watches and jewellery as over 2,100 exhibiting companies from 43 countries show off their best in Basel.

Around 80,000 visitors from across the globe have their sights on Basel and tickets in hand to visit the Alpine city.

The show is all set to be the world's leading platform for the watch and jewellery industry and provides the ideal forum for business and networking.

Exhibiters from the 43 countries plan to unveil their latest models and collections in a total area of over 160,000 m2. Many of the companies have selected this as the exclusive fair to show at.

Timely Restructuring

With the increased overlap between watch and jewellery brands, Baselworld decided to restructure the positioning of the stands three years ago. The project is now complete and exhibitors and visitors warmly welcome the thoughtfulness and effort of Baselworld.

One thing this trade fair promises to be is a unique showcase of the industry.

Protection from Forgery

Imitation and forgery of luxury goods is a problem, which has affected the luxury goods industry worldwide. For 20 years now, there has been a Panel that has made a valuable contribution to the protection of intellectual property rights at Baselworld.

This Panel has ensured a considerable reduction in the number of complaints at the trade fair.

This fall in the number of cases referred can also be attributed largely to efforts made by participating associations who urge their members to respect intellectual property rights and provide valuable information during the run-up to trade shows.
