Human Resources managers of many multinational companies have outsourced all or part of their expat-relocation services to specialised professionals. It's a trend that began some years ago in the US, and took some time to develop in Europe and in particular in Switzerland.
It is now taking hold but there are many 'one-(wo)man-shows' which are able to satisfy the needs of only a few transferees at a time. Finding a Home
The products offered by Network Relocation revolve around an expat's life-cycle. Starting with the final screening of a potential candidate, HR requests an orientation tour for the candidate and possibly his/her family so that he/she is convinced that living in Switzerland is possible if not attractive.
Once the contract is signed, the relocation consultant, together with the newly hired employees, define the clients housing, schooling and other needs such as work permits. While planning their relocation, we can offer cultural and language training, organise housing and schooling tours and help with many otherwise time consuming tasks. For example, in most cases the personal belongings and household goods need to be moved from their current place of living to the future work place. A hassle, if not assisted by true professionals.
Temporary homes
Once the transferee(s) arrive in Switzerland, the most important phase of a relocation starts. Picking up the family at the airport makes them feel welcome and takes off some of the pressure. To organise temporary housing until their belongings arrive often makes more sense than having an entire family in a hotel.
