Switzerland's air traffic control agency, Skyguide, has had to scale back its operations at Zurich airport because it cannot find replacements for sick staff. Due to this, there have been lengthy flight delays that have left the airport and the national carrier, Swiss, fuming.

Early April, flights leaving Switzerland's main airport were delayed by up to an hour. A week before that, the situation was worse when Skyguide was only able to land 12 aircraft--half its normal capacity--every hour.
