The 15th Crans Montana Forum will take place from 24th-27th June 2004. A preview.

Mid-year and it's time to get the government and the private sector together to talk business. The International Crans Montana Forum has been doing this for the last 14 years. And this year, the theme of the Forum is: 'the world in perspective in 2004'.

Entering into its 15th year, this major international Forum has been attracting numerous heads of states, government officials, representatives of international organisations and the academic world, as well as decision-makers in the world of business and finance. And this year, over a 100 different nationalities are expected to participate in the Forum.

This prestigious gathering aims to facilitate meetings and dialogue between government officials and private sector representatives in the most informal way. It goes without saying that the relaxed and friendly environment of this event fosters numerous opportunities to develop personal and business relationships.

Key Issues

This year the programme will emphasise the Palestinian crisis in the general context of the Middle East. For this debate, some key personalities who have confirmed their participation are: Palestine's Prime Minister, Ahmad Abu Ala Qorei; Secretary-General of the Arab League, Amre Moussa and the President of the Iraq Governing Council, Muhsen Abdul Hameed.

Africa and its relationship with industrialised countries will be another key topic of the Forum. A few of the numerous key African personalities will be attending the Forum. This will also include an important delegation from the Republic of Congo headed by its Vice-President, Jean Pierre Bemba.

Other major topics will include: the enlargement of the European Union as well as its political and economic impact on the continent; the state of the financial world; and the impact of a low dollar on the global...
