Beyer's collection solid!(News)

The private collection of one of Switzerland's greatest watch experts, Theodor Beyer, has been sold in Zurich.

This major auction of pieces described as a "collector's dream" fetched a total of just over CHF5,500,000 ($4,160,000).

Theodor Beyer, who died in July, was a man who knew everything about watch making. His interest in collecting timepieces came in the 1950s when an avid collector advised him that he should continue the collections of previous family generations and also start a museum.
