Making a difference: vaud-based well-being promoter Liz Rollinson-Phillips seeks to change the concept of health from 'absence of illness' to 'quality living in mind-body-spirit harmony' that helps prevent ill health as it empowers the sick not to perceive themselves as victims.

Nothing particular in her youth pointed the way to Liz Rollinson's vocation. True, she was drawn to sports--as a kid she listed bronco rider and gym teacher among the things she'd like to do when she grew up--at a time when healthy living was strongly equated with fitness and enjoying the great outdoors. And she liked helping people feel better and heal: she did volunteer work in a home for physically challenged children, and her fast job was a medical secretary to an orthopaedic surgeon.
