Switzerland has various important vineyards located in such areas as the cantons of Valais, a French speaking area which produces 35.5% of the total wine production of the country. The French region such as Vaud, Geneva, Neuchatel as well as Italian region Ticino and the German region of eastern Switzerland also produce wines.
