"I had been looking desperately for a nursing top," she says. "There wasn't anything out there. I wanted to be able to nurse in public without having to unbutton my shirt or hike up my sweater. I wanted to feel protected and covered."

"The funny thing is that these days I see a lot of pretty maternity clothes, but you don't really wear those for more than a couple of months," [Rothman] says. "Nursing, on the other hand, is something many moms do longer than they are pregnant."

"And I was like any other mom," continues Rothman. "I wanted to wear something nice that would give me support but that would also be comfortable and not restricted. Of course, I also wanted it to look good! It's vanity, of course, but when you've just had a baby you feel vulnerable. I wanted it to be glamorous and fun. So I decided to call my product Glamourmom."
