Summary
Tom Hanks told the band in That Thing You Do! to: "Make it snappy!" Melody Club do just that as they strive to live up to their own name. Catchy piano hooks, driving bass line and a dedication to good melody is evident in all three of their albums. Not necessarily a newcomer to the Swedish music scene but definitely a newcomer to US shores. The same can be said for many Scandinavian pop acts, who find success at home before seeking to conquer western lands. It seems formulaic in that it takes a successful Swedish band three albums at home in order to get noticed in the US. Watch out for the new album Scream.
