Talking Airport business: passenger numbers at Zurich Airport rose slightly last year, but airport operator, Unique, faces mounting costs associated with noise complaints and, surprisingly, the just-approved Schengen accord. Swiss news speaks to Unique CEO Josef Felder.

Unique reports that passenger numbers rose 1.3 per cent last year to nearly 17.8 million after three years of downward trends. And the good news continues. The airport's fifth expansion phase has gone smoothly; the recently-unveiled sleek new interiors now house 117 shops, 31 food and beverage outlets and a new dock. And it was completed on time and on budget.
