Scout helicopters.

An army scouting unit is traditionally small, mobile and lightly armed. It provides intelligence on opposing forces, so that friendly forces are not subjected to surprise attack, and can be deployed and employed to maximum effect. If designed purely for such reconnoitring, a helicopter would require only a two-seat airframe with a sensor turret and communications equipment, to find and designate targets for heavily armed and armoured attack helicopters.
