When Elham Manea writes about the Arab world, people pay attention--and the outcome isn't always positive. The day after she wrote a critical article about Yemeni politics in the pan-Arab newspaper 'Al Quds Al Arabi', her diplomat father, who lives in the Yemeni capital of Sana'a, bad his telepbone service cut off. It took days to get the phone to work again. A coincidence? Mantra doesn't think so.
