In an interview, Francesco Geoffroy, of ITC who was involved in the original development of the Integrated Framework (IF), talked about Enhanced IF, its importance to the Aid for Trade discussion, and ITC's role in the Enhanced IF. The Enhanced IF addresses three of the IF's main concerns: 1. ownership by LDCs, 2. funding requirements, and 3. management structure. It represents a first package of assistance to LDCs that prioritizes technical assistance for trade, is coherent and builds on synergies among all the players in the process. ITC's role is mainly to help LDCs build sustainable capacity to participate in the Enhanced IF.
