Swiss goes Dutch: Peter Bouw, former executive president of the Dutch airline KLM, has been chosen to pilot swiss, the Confederation's new flag carrier, through its difficult relaunch.
On March 31, Switzerland's new national carrier, swiss, took to the skies. After Swissair's painful grounding and subsequent chapter 11 procedure, Swiss is hoping to recover the pride of the nation. The new airline's name may be as "Swiss" as it gets, but the Chairman of the Board is a 61-year-old Dutchman. Pieter Bouw took over as chairman of the new Swiss airline on December 6, 2001.
