Buster rocket: get it off your shoulder!(Infantry: weapons)

Packing a powerful punch into an easily transportable weapon system has always been a soldier's dream. Shoulder-launched rocket-propelled grenades partly answer this need, as they were initially developed to defeat the main infantryman enemy on the battlefield, the armoured vehicle. However the target diversity has since expanded and new systems have been developed not only to breach walls but also to engage troops behind obstacles at long rang.

Indeed, while older systems are being upgraded to decrease weight, and while progress in warheads and propulsion are implemented, the key element for operational success of many new-generation systems has become the fire control system, this very much in response to the longer ranges required by numerous users.
