Johnson & Johnson: small is beautiful: Johnson & Johnson sees itself as a 'Family of Companies', and that isn't just PR-speak. J&J really does consist of over 250 subsidiary companies in 60 countries. Since one of those countries is Switzerland, Swiss News decided to learn more about the health giant's role here.

Johnson & Johnson comprises three divisions: the consumer products division sells thousands of over-the-counter health, hygiene and skincare products, including household names like Band-Aid and Tylenol; then there's the pharmaceutical division, which produces prescription drugs to treat everything from schizophrenia to blood clots; finally, there's the medical devices and diagnostics division (MD&D), which started life in the nineteenth century making sutures for wounds. Nowadays, it produces coronary stents, artificial joints, and a blood monitoring system for diabetics, among many other products.
