Artillery on target--trajectory correctable munitions.
Artillery has entered a new era, in that the projectiles have become smart. Altering the trajectory of a projectile after it has left the muzzle is no longer a gunner's dream but is rapidly becoming an accepted reality. Projectiles can now be fired with a reasonable expectation that they will efficiently cover a pre-selected target area to ensure it has been neutralised.
Many observers may wonder why it is necessary to alter the trajectory of a projectile after it has been fired, especially in these days of complex fire control and land navigation.
