• Starflowers Sinikka Langeland

[Sinikka Langeland] - who has a Finnish mother and a Norwegian father - was born in Kirkenass, Norway in 1961 and felt the pull of the two nationalities and cultures from the outset. An early education in classical music eventually gave way for her interest in older musical forms. Langeland sings and plays the kantele (a Finnish table harp) with all the soul of a huldra, and her sound is pure and earthy. On Starflowers, the marriage of Langeland's voice, the kantele and the poetry of [Hans Berli] produces new depths.
