In 1961, the twenty-year-old Agneta Eckerström arrived in New York to take up a guide position at the United Nations. Ideally suited for the challenge, since as a graduate of the elite French school in Stockholm, she was already fluent in several languages. During a visit to California the next year, she co-founded "Miss Sweden," a trading company that launched bikinis and other new bathing suit designs in America. In 1963, she married Gunnar Nilsson, SAS Airline's Station Manager in Los Angeles. Ms. Nilsson's domestic bliss didn't preclude her from continuing a busy and impressive career. She began importing children's clothing from Scandinavia, and she opened a weaving studio in the family garage at her Manhattan Beach (California) home.

One of Telge Glima's activities is performing. Dressed up like peasants 150 years ago, you can catch them present games like "Badger the Bear", "Hitting the Jug" or "Master of the Circle" at open-air museums like Stockholm's Skansen or Old Linköping. Or perhaps you'll come across them on some mediaeval festival, performing even older games, like backwards leaps, tug-of-war, or glima.
Next year we'll be celebrating and we're planning on going to the U.S. A few of us were in Texas in 2003 at a Viking festival, but this time we're all coming. We're looking into festivals and the likes where we could fit in. There are some ideas about where to go and what to do, but mainly we're open to any ideas. We'll perform as long as someone can provide us with a place to sleep, something to eat and a...

Recognizing the unique challenges faced by women seeking trade support services in Africa, ITC developed the ACCESS! program in 2005 with the goal of providing greater participation of African business-women in international trade. Following the success of six training workshops that reached more than 60 business-women, ACCESS! Tunisia has already extended its core training and business counseling activities and developed targeted microcredit support for its clients. This pilot project allowed the participants to better understand international market trends and to create market niches, develop prototypes and test the receptiveness of foreign markets. Through this joint initiative, the ACCESS! Tunisia team and its focal point institution, La Maison de l'Exportateur-Tunisie, have helped ...
